BROCKWAY – The inaugural Frank Varischetti All-Star Football Game turned into the Shane Rolick show as his Allegheny Mountain League squad beat a team of all-stars from the Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference, 27-20, Friday in Brockway.
The game matched up all-star teams of graduated seniors from the AML and KSAC, with former Kane High, Karns City and Curwensville players scoring touchdowns.
Rolick scored a touchdown from a yard out for the go-ahead score with three minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Rolick scored twice in the first half sandwiched between two Collin Dunmyre (Karns City) touchdowns. Quamone Newkirk (Curwensville) scored before the half as the AML took a 21-14 lead into the locker room. The AML came up with a goal line stand just seconds before halftime to deny the KSAC points.
Neal Barnhart (Karns City) got the KSAC within one at 21-20, but Rolick’s third touchdown finished off the scoring.
