The Zonta Club of Bradford awarded four Ruth B. Fisher Scholarships for $750 to local students.
Victoria Cian, Amanda Droney, Bryanna Stahlman (not present) and Billie Jo Ruttan were each recipients. They were honored at a luncheon on Wednesday at Togi’s.
Cian, a graduate of Bradford Area High School, will major in psychology at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. She has participated in the criminal justice club, varsity soccer and has been on the distinguished honor roll. She works part-time at Arby’s. She is the daughter of Kimberly Cian, former recipient of this same scholarship.
Droney has been active in the marching band, Key Club, National Honor Society and tennis team. She was the 2015-16 McKean County fair queen. She is a Sunday school volunteer at her church. She will be attending Clarion University of Pennsylvania, majoring in mathematics/co-op engineering. She is the daughter of John and Patti Droney.
Rittan is a non-traditional student working toward completing her early education courses at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. She works as a substitute aide in the Bradford Area School District.
An honor student at BAHS, Stahlman, who is not pictured, plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh Bradford majoring in graphics and multimedia design. She has been active in student council, National Honor Society, golf and track teams. She has volunteered at The Friendship Table and The Era’s Less Fortunate (ELF) Fund. She works part-time at Graham’s Florist. She is the daughter of Jeffrey and Diane Stahlman.
