A Bradford man was jailed Monday on drug allegations following an arraignment before Magisterial District Judge Dominic Cercone.
Court records indicate charges were filed against Timothy Robert Curtis, 33, on Feb. 5 — the same weekend several others were arrested for drug-related charges in Bradford.
Court records said Curtis is charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance and conspiracy to possess with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, both felonies; and possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
Court records filed that day against Rachel Susan Anderson, 20, of Bradford, stated that she and Curtis conspired to deliver 10 packs of heroin to a confidential informant with the McKean County Drug Task Force in exchange for $150.
Court records indicate Anderson handed the money from the confidential informant to Curtis, who took it into one of the Rose Terrace apartments off Lincoln Avenue, then handed Anderson a bundle — or 10 packs — of heroin; Anderson allegedly smoked one of the packs there, then gave the rest to the informant; Curtis then walked back to the apartment.
Curtis is committed to McKean County Jail in Smethport in lieu of $30,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Feb. 25.
On Feb. 5 — the day after the alleged incident with Anderson and Curtis — the McKean County Drug Task Force investigated a second alleged drug deliver at Rose Terrace apartments, then returned at 9:22 p.m. to execute a search warrant at Rose Terrace Apt. 12, arresting three people.
Court records said at 2:22 p.m., Colt Mathew Ayers, 27, of Port Allegany, picked up Anderson in his vehicle and took her to Rose Terrace after the pair arranged a drug transaction over the phone; it on that property that Ayers accepted $140 from Anderson in exchange for 11 packets of heroin.
Arrested when the search warrant was executed were Michael Dennis Edwards, 47, of Bradford, on allegations he possessed with the intent to deliver heroin and crack cocaine, as well as Jeffery R. Vanpelt Jr., 51, of Clarendon, for alleged possession of crack cocaine and Zachary Petsu Harter, 30, of Bradford, for alleged possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia, court records indicated.
Anderson and Ayers were arraigned Feb. 5, and Edwards, Harter and Vanpelt were arraigned Feb. 6, all before Magisterial District Judge William Todd. They are all incarcerated, awaiting preliminary hearings.
