SMETHPORT — A Bradford man is in McKean County Jail for a burglary of a residence on Duffytown Road in Eldred Township on Jan. 7.
Christian Clayton Clark, 25, of 127 Clarence St., is charged with burglary, a first-degree felony; criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, all second-degree felonies; and criminal mischief, a third-degree misdemeanor.
According to court records, Clark and Rhonda Peters, 34, also of Bradford, broke into the residence of her former boyfriend to gather her personal belongings, but also took a Remington Model 770 rifle that didn’t belong to her. The two took the rifle into the woods and hid it, police said.
Clark was arraigned Thursday before Magisterial District Judge Bill Todd and remanded to jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Jan. 21.
Peters is facing identical charges. She has waived her preliminary hearing in the case and has been released on $50,000 unsecured bail.
