Cops: Jail inmate made 50-plus calls to woman over 10 days

ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) — State police say they’ve charged a 57-year-old central New York jail inmate with making more than 50 telephone calls over a 10-day period to a woman who had an order of protection prohibiting him from contacting her.

Troopers say Thursday they charged Michael Delario Jr. of Ithaca with criminal contempt after being told he was violating a woman’s order of protection by calling her from the Tompkins County Jail.

Police say their investigation determined Delario made more than 50 calls from Nov. 24 to Dec. 4.

Delario was arraigned Wednesday in Ithaca Town Court and returned to the county jail, where he’s being held without bail.

Information on the charges he was initially jailed on wasn’t available from authorities. It couldn’t be determined if he has an attorney.
