LITTLE VALLEY, N.Y. — Criminal cases against two area men moved forward, when they appeared in Cattaraugus County Court in Little Valley.
District attorney Lori Pettit Rieman said Dale R. Parker, 28, of Olean, pleaded guilty to a charge of third-degree attempted robbery, a felony; and Phillip M. Haight, 32, of Bradford, Pa., was sentenced for drug delivery allegations.
Rieman said on Dec. 18, 2014, in Olean, Parker tried to steal property using force. One news source reported he tried to take a purse from a woman trying to put items in her car, which was parked in the Reid’s Food Barn parking lot.
Parker will be sentenced Sept. 12, 2016, after his scheduled completion of drug court.
Meanwhile, Haight will serve a term of 2 1/2 years in state prison and one year of post release supervision. He was convicted of fourth-degree attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance, a felony, for allegations that on June 13, 2013, in Salamanca, Haight tried to sell a narcotic, Rieman said.
