Pine Acres Country Club will host the 22nd annual CARE ‘fore’ Children Golf Tournament on Aug. 2.
Tournament sponsors are Zippo Manufacturing Company and W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company.
The tournament is a four-person scramble with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Flighting is based on the team member with the lowest handicap.
The entry fee is $45 for Pine Acres members and $55 for non-members, which includes greens fees, food and refreshments on the course. The tournament has a total purse of $3,500 based on 35 teams; there are also prizes on par-3 holes and door prizes sponsored by local businesses.
More than 100 local businesses, organizations and donors support the annual event.
All proceeds from the tournament benefit free outreach services for children with disabilities; pediatric developmental and preventative screenings; therapeutic recreation programs; child safety initiatives that prevent disabilities and fatalities from accidental injuries; and inclusive early learning programs which give young children a bright start to lifelong learning.
