A St. Marys man performing home repairs was impaled in the chest by a piece of rebar after a fall on Thursday, local officials said.
St. Marys Ambulance Service crews were called to the scene of the accident at 419 Gay Road in the city around 5:30 p.m. Cross-streets are listed as Bennett and Parkway roads in call records.
The victim’s condition was not immediately clear, but he was taken by a medical helicopter staged on a nearby baseball field at Memorial Park.
No further details were available as of press time Thursday.
The victim’s name was also being withheld by officials citing patient privacy concerns.
