A Bradford man has been charged with assault after a May 31 motorcycle crash in Benezette which severely injured his passenger.
Daniel Hushon, 41, of Crookerhouse Drive, is charged with aggravated assault by motor vehicle, a third-degree felony; recklessly endangering another person, a second-degree misdemeanor; speeding and reckless driving, both summary offenses.
According to court records, around 7:30 p.m. May 31, a BMW motorcycle operated by Hushon was traveling on Homestead Drive in Benezette Township in an area where the posted speed limit was 15 mph. Police said the motorcycle passed another vehicle after a sharp curve on the road when it was unsafe to do so, and went out of control and crashed.
A passenger on the motorcycle, Ashley Beckwith, was severely injured and required medical treatment.
The charges were filed in the office of St. Marys District Judge Mark Jacob on Friday by Trooper Scott Garverick.
While court records did not indicate if Hushon had been arraigned, the online court docket indicated a preliminary hearing has been set for 10 a.m. Feb. 17.
