SMETHPORT — A Bradford man will be going to state prison on charges stemming from four separate cases.
Matthew J. Howard, 20, was sentenced on Thursday in McKean County Court to a term of eight to 24 months in state prison and 18 months of probation.
On Sept. 25, Howard pleaded guilty in one case to a charge of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, in a second case to charges of simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, in a third case to receiving stolen property and in a fourth case to disorderly conduct.
Also in court, Rheannon M. Bryant, 29, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to one count of endangering the welfare of children. According to assistant district attorney Ashley Shade, on Sept. 1, her 3-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son were found in the street, and she had not known where they were; they children were dirty, had severe diaper rashes and needed diaper changes. She will be sentenced on Dec. 18.
John L. Crocker, 55, pleaded guilty to a charge of flight to avoid apprehension. According to Shade, on Sept. 2, Crocker hid from law enforcement officials in a wooded area because he know he had an outstanding arrest warrant because he absconded from state parole. He will be sentenced on Dec. 18.
Mark Voegelin, 44, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to a charge of recklessly endangering another person and a summary charge. On Aug. 14, Voegelin pulled recklessly out of a parking lot, putting people at risk of harm, Shade said. He will be sentenced on Dec. 18.
John M. Lekas, 27, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to a charge of theft by unlawful taking. Shade said that on July 16, Lekas stole $3,381 worth of jewelry. He will be sentenced Dec. 18.
Robert R. Knapp Jr., 22, pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit criminal trespassing, theft by unlawful taking and a summary charge. On July 3, Knapp agreed with Taylor Dyne to take $180 of items from the Kiasutha Campground and cause $411.18 in damage there, according to Shade. He will be sentenced on Dec. 18.
Michael E. Burritt, 23, of Port Allegany, pleaded guilty to a charge of theft by unlawful taking. Shade said on July 4, Burritt took an Appalachian trailer worth between $200 and $2,000. He will be sentenced on Dec. 18.
Anthony P. Dolan, 50, of Kane, pleaded guilty to charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and summary charges. He will serve six months in the Intermediate Punishment Program.
Frank A. Degolier, 36, of Lewis Run, pleaded guilty to charges of driving under the influence of alcohol. He will serve six months in the Intermediate Punishment Program.
Carolyn M. Taylor, 26, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. She will be sentenced on Dec. 4.
John H. Beun, 27, of Wayne, N.J.; and Jeffrey A. Gould, 36, of Lewis Run; were accepted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence of a controlled substance; Dakota J. Vaughn, 19, of Eldred; and Pamela Newton, 55, of Bradford; were accepted into the ARD Program for driving under the influence of a controlled substance; and Benjamin W. Rothermel, 29, of Smethport; and Danielle Cowan, 30, of Kane; were accepted into the ARD program for driving under the influence of alcohol.
