Pitt-Bradford senior bowler Sarah Foley and freshman swimmer Cory Koss were named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Players of the Week for their respective sports, as announced by the league office Monday.
Foley earns the award for the second time in this young season for the bowling team. The Panthers have bowled in just two tournaments thus far, and Foley has brought home the award after both competitions.
The bowling team competed in the Fairleigh Dickinson University Invitational in Teaneck, N.J., over the weekend. Foley went toe-to-toe with some of the nation’s best and finished 10th overall in the tournament for All Star status with a 205.55 average through 11 games. She bowled a game-high 253 in the second game of day one versus Maryland Eastern Shore.
Next up, the bowling team hosts Medaille on Nov. 11 at 3 p.m. at Byllye Lanes.
For Koss, this marks the first award of his career in a Panther uniform. The Pitt-Bradford swim teams went head-to-head with Penn State Altoona on Saturday and Koss did not disappoint. He was part of the 200 medley relay group that set a new school record with a time of 1:40.96 to open the day.
Koss went on to place first in the 200 IM with a mark of 2:06.44, and dropped his new school record from last weekend in the 100 back by an additional half a second with a time of 54.79.
The swim teams return to the pool on Saturday as they travel to face Buffalo State in Buffalo, N.Y., at 1 p.m.
