A Rixford man has been arrested on allegations he threatened representatives of the Otto-Eldred School District and their families online.
Scott Lavern Porter, 50, of 1436 Looker Mountain Trail, was arraigned Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Richard Luther on two counts each of terroristic threats, both first-degree misdemeanors; harassment and criminal trespassing, all third-degree misdemeanors; and four summary counts of harassment, court records indicated.
According to court records, at 1:32 a.m. Sept. 21, Porter posted to Facebook a message to the Otto-Eldred School Board and the district’s office personnel, which included statements such as, “let me make my self very clear with you people that you stick your nose into my kids biz, my affairs I’ll give you a war you don’t wan’t nor you can win, screw the legal process,” and, “if you value your body, your family that you keep your nose out.”
Porter was sent notices on Oct. 22, 2012, Feb. 19, 2013, Aug. 1, 2013, and Nov. 19, 2013, informing him he was banned from school activities, school property, sports fields and surrounding areas such as parking lots or other gathering areas during events, court records indicated.
However, he allegedly attended a junior varsity game on Oct. 2, as well as a varsity game, and was subsequently served another notice in person by Otto-Eldred Regional Police on Oct. 7, according to court records.
Porter was committed to McKean County Jail in Smethport in lieu of $30,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
