DUBOIS — Port Allegany continues to go toe-to-toe with the top girls soccer programs in District 9.
Monday was no different, as the Lady Gators battled and lost a tough 2-1 contest to DuBois Central Catholic.
The Lady Cardinals scored a pair of goals in the first half, courtesy of Jordan Frank and Kasey Baronick to take a 2-0 lead.
Lynae Delacour struck in the second half for the Lady Gators to cut the deficit in half, but Port A. was unable to get the equalizer.
Laura Fox had six saves for Port.
“They’re very well-disciplined,” said Port Allegany coach Travis Cowburn. “We continue to play with these top teams in the south.”
Port Allegany (8-7) hosts Friendship (N.Y.) on Senior Night Wednesday (4 p.m.).
