A Bradford woman has been charged with child endangerment after allegedly leaving her children alone in a vehicle.
Tristan Nicole Bunker, 22, of Kane, was arraigned Friday before District Judge Richard Luther for two counts each of endangering the welfare of children, both first-degree misdemeanors; and leaving a child unattended in a vehicle, both summary charges, court records stated.
According to court records, Foster Township Police were called on July 3 to Walmart to investigate after she left her 2 1/2-year-old son and 9-month-old daughter in the locked vehicle. Surveillance video from the store indicated she entered the store at 10:42 a.m. that day without her children to pick up a prescription and returned to the vehicle at 10:49 a.m.
When the officer talked to her, she stated she was only gone for about three minutes and noted the door was locked. The officer, Lt. Michael Thomas, explained “there was a possibility of someone breaking the window and taking the two small children as they cannot defend themselves,” court records read.
McKean County Children & Youth Services was also notified about the alleged incident.
Bunker was released on $10,000 unsecured bail, and she is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
