A Bradford man is hospitalized in critical condition after crashing his motorcycle into a passenger car on the U.S. Route 219 Bradford bypass at Owens Way at 7:16 p.m. Monday.
On Tuesday night, Bradford Township Police said eyewitnesses in the area of the Route 219 overpass at Owens Way saw Alan L. Hill, 67, attempting to pass multiple vehicles on his motorcycle before colliding with an oncoming 2007 Toyota Camry. The vehicle was occupied by six individuals — 19-year-old driver Corrinne Pawlowski of Fairview; 21-year-old Dillon J. Welch; 18-year-old Jordan M. Finotti; 20-year-old Josiah D. Blick; 19-year-old Kayla M. Stayer; and 18-year-old Katelyn M. Nedz. All refused medical treatment on scene, according to police.
Hill was not so lucky.
Police said Hill suffered major injuries after being thrown from the motorcycle. He was flown by medical helicopter from the scene to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, N.Y., for treatment; he remained in critical condition on Tuesday.
The investigation is ongoing and criminal charges are possible against Hill, according to police. None had been filed against him as of press time Tuesday night, according to online court documents.
Police said Pawlowski was unable to avoid the collision with the motorcycle, which hit the vehicle’s driver side door. The car, which is registered to Shawn M. Stayer of Allegany, N.Y., sustained moderate damage and had to be towed from the scene.
Bradford Township Police were assisted on scene by Bradford City Police and members of the Bradford Township Volunteer Fire Department and Bradford City medics, Mercy Flight and Tuna Valley Towing.
