SMETHPORT — The Smethport girls’ track team opened its season with a pair of wins Tuesday — 91-58 over Otto-Eldred and 96-53 against Northern Potter.

Katie Treat and Laura Alfieri stood out for the Lady Hubbers. Treat won the 400, 800 and was part of the winning 1600 relay team that also included Alfieri, Melissa Dibble and Brittany Szarowicz, while Alfieri won both the 100 and 300 hurdles in addition to the 300 hurdles.

“Katie Treat had some nice times to open the season and Laura Alfieri was close to her best times to open the season,” Woodring said. “Jessica Watson also qualfied for districts in the discus (89 feet).”

For Nothern Potter, Morgan Soule was part of the winning 3200 relay team while sweeping the 1600 and 3200, while Otto-Eldred’s Tiffany Bair was part of the winning 400 relay team in addition to winning the 100 and long jump.
