I was just thinking what the day means. It is supposed to be a celebration of the combination of Abraham Lincoln and George Washington’s birthdays. When I was in school, we used to celebrate them separately.
Wonder how either one of them would feel about our government today? There always seems to be a blame game going on in our government these days. Of course now it is blame Obama. Do you think that went on in their day? Now you are talking quite a time span between them, the first to the 16th presidents.
I also wonder how they would feel about how big and out-of-control our government has gotten. The government was never ever intended, I’m fairly sure, to be where it is today or spend as much money as it does. If you talk to the politicians, they tell you that we wouldn’t be able to function without spending as much as we do. B.S.
I hear people talk about how much debt that we are in, and in the next statement they blame it on our current president. Can you honestly say that it is all his fault? We were as a country after Clinton left office in the black. The next president was the one who started on that slippery slope of debt. Then you have all the pork. I watch legitimate news programs not one-sided ones. I like to hear both sides of a story.
Anybody ever wonder what happened to the money that the senator from Alaska porked out of our government for the bridge to nowhere? I don’t think the bridge got built, so where did the money go? In my book, if the money didn’t go where it was supposed to, it should have been returned. It is things like these that create debt.
What about the last president before Obama, sitting on his lame butt just riding out the last year of his term.
It is things like this that make me ask if these two former presidents would approve. If when you ask your representatives about their role, if they don’t answer truthfully, get rid of them.
