Outdoors events calendar

ON SALE — Anglers are reminded that Pennsylvania fishing licenses for the 2014 season are currently on sale at licensed agents – sporting goods stores – or on line through the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission (www.fishandboat.com) click on the Outdoor Shop. Resident adult (16-64) license is $22.70. Senior resident license (65 and over) is $11.70 and Senior resident lifetime license (65 and over) is $51.70. Non-resident adult license (16 and over) is $52.70. Multi-year licenses (3 or 5 years) are also available. The trout/salmon and the Lake Erie permits are $9.70 each. A combined permit (trout/salmon and Lake Erie) are $15.70 each. Additional information concerning fishing license requirements can be found in the Summary Book available at all licensed agents.

 MARCH 7-9

COYOTE HUNT — The Limestone Sportmen’s Club coyote hunt will begin at 12:01 a.m. on March 7. The Club will be open at 2 p.m. on Friday and Saturday for lunch and drinks. There is a $20 sign-up fee  (t-shirt included) and weigh in will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 9. For more information, contact Jeremy Rounsville at 716-378-7605 or Mark Farrell at 814-558-5861.

FUR BUYING FAIR — There will be a fur buying fair and selling of trapping supplies at the Lafayette Township Volunteer Fire Department, 7004 Rt. 59, Lewis Run, PA, 16738. The event will run from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Darin Freeborough of Animalistics Outdoors will provide a free seminar from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. Also, Gary Sunderland of Sunderland’s Trapping Supplies, Bill Ford of Bill’s Cabin and Scott Gorrell of Gorrell’s Trapping Supplies will be in attendance. APRIL 25-26-27

CLASS — The Sawmill Center for the Arts located in Cook Forest State Park will host a class in woodcarving. Instructor will be Brian Brubaker. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. There is a class fee and a materials fee. To check on class availability or for other details contact the Sawmill Center at (814) 927-6655.
