A total of 16 properties were purchased in a recent McKean County judicial sale, with the rest going into repository, McKean County Tax Claim Bureau director Angela Tennies said on Monday.
Tennies said Stanley Pecora bought the Pecora Brothers Inc. building at 222 W. Washington St. for $992.33. The purchase included the commercial building only, not the land, she noted. It was once the location of Parkview Supermarket and is the current location of Hookah Utopia and a medical office.
Meanwhile, the Anderson Property, an industrial property and old saw mill at 413 JoJo Road in Kane, was purchased by Thomas Boylan of Kane, according to Tennies. She said it was actually two properties that were purchased by Boylan — 10 acres with buildings on it for $50,000 and a 3.89-acre vacant plot for $9,400.
“That property has an IRS lien,” Tennies said. “The IRS has 90 days to come back and stop the sale, essentially.”
The Bradford Moose Lodge building at 14 Pine St. was one relegated to the repository after no bids were made at the auction, according to Tennies. She said this property also has an IRS lien on it.
She said bids may still be placed on properties in repository, but the county, municipal and school tax authorities must accept the highest bid before a sale would go through. Minimum bids for land and buildings is $250 and $50 for mobile homes, according to Tennies.
Meanwhile, two small plots of vacant land in the City of Bradford were purchased by the Downtown Bradford Revitalization Corp. from Edna Wilking, she said. Each of the vacant lots was sold for $952.61 — one measuring .04 acres and the other .038 acres, according to Tennies.
She said several properties that were sold were residential. A residence and land located at 50 Oakwood Ave. took the highest bid of $27,000, paid to Linwood Properties LLC.
Other properties ranged from $1,000 to $3,000, according to Tennies.
She said a residential property at 1363 High St. in Bradford Township was sold for $1,029.11 to William and Carol Huber of Bradford.
Two properties in Foster Township were purchased by Amanda Meyers of Bradford — a mobile home for $1,034.36 and the land it sat on for $1,098.72, Tennies said. Both are located at 149 Fairview Heights.
Also, Tennies said, four residential properties sold in Bradford City’s 6th Ward, as did one in the 4th Ward of the city.
