PORT ALLEGANY — Results from the Potter County part of the Port Allegany School District have been canvassed by the Potter County elections staff.
Voters in Roulette and Pleasant Valley townships seemed to agree with their counterparts to the west in Liberty Township, Port Allegany Borough and Annin Township.
Potter County voters gave Mark P. Carlson 145 votes, David Mensch 132, Denise Herger Buchanan 109, Rodney W. Howard 146 and Kaci L. Daniels 62. In the top-four-of-five race, Daniels was defeated.
Carlson, Mensch and Buchanan are residents of Port Allegany Borough. Howard is a Roulette Township resident.
Totals, including the McKean County votes, are Carlson, 645; Mensch, 527; Buchanan, 546; Howard, 574; and Daniels, 327.
In effect, Carlson will replace Ron Caskey on the board. Caskey did not seek re-election. A retired teacher, he has said he will spend much of the winter out of the area, and would not be able to attend meetings of the board and its committees. Mensch, Howard and Buchanan are incumbents.
