FIRST ROBINS: Kathy Gotshall of Port Allegany called Monday to report seeing her first robins of the season. She spotted a flock of them — 50 to 75 strong — in a hay field near Roulette.
Closer to home, she said, grackles and red-winged blackbirds have returned to her yard. And she saw some Canada geese on a pond near Coudersport.
Whether the nice weather over the past few days and the return of seasonal birds marks spring’s arrival here, Kathy’s not so sure.
