A FITTING MONUMENT: We mentioned on Saturday the historic keystone sign that marks the intersection of Looker Mountain Trail and South Kendall Avenue (Route 46) and promised more information about John C. Looker.

The helpful folks at the Bradford Landmark Society passed on a sheaf of newspaper articles about Looker, who amassed a fortune in the area’s oil fields between 1875 and 1925.
