JOHN FRONTINO: We left readers yesterday as Pearl Harbor was
being bombed.
Among those on the ground was a member of the Air Corps — John
Frontino of Bradford — who saw the Japanese dive bombers striking
Wheeler runway. Frontino convinced his buddies to break into the
storeroom of a nearby barracks and commandeer a 50-caliber machine
gun.
