WORM WORDS: Harry Hicks tells us he has many apple trees on his
124 acres of McKean County and they are all loaded with apples. But
one thing is missing. Every year, it seems, his trees have been
“plagued” with caterpillar cocoons and, this year, nary a one.
There were so many, he used to torch them. His neighbor, too,
reports a dearth of caterpillar “webs.”
