MAXINE WEIS: Every so often, out of the blue, we’d get a call
from Mary “Maxine” Weis. One of her last calls was about the spring
flowers she had blooming in her yard in Emporium — way before
Bradford could see the end of winter. We would tease her, and let
her know she was our “southern” correspondent since her weather
always seemed so much better than our own.
