    Want to Trick-or-Treat, or attend Halloween parties? When and where to go

    Area ghosts and ghouls can make the trick-or-treat rounds this
    weekend. Most Twin Tiers communities will hold trick-or-treat hours
    Sunday, although a few have hours set for Saturday.

    Communities that have set hours for 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct.
    30, include Amity, Andover village, Angelica
    village, Belfast, Belmont, Caneadea, Clarksville
    and Independence. Additional Saturday hours are
    set for 5 to 7 p.m. in Friendship and 5:30 to 7:30
    p.m. in Scio.

    Communities that have set hours for 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday,
    Halloween, include Olean, Allegany village and town,
    Portville, Hinsdale, Franklville, Alfred
    town and village,
    Alma, Almond village and town,
    Bolivar village and town, Burns,
    Canaseraga, Cuba
    village and town, Hume, New
    Hudson, Richburg, Rushford, Wellsville
    village and town,
    and Willing. Children can trick-or-treat Sunday in
    Salamanca from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

    Trick-or-treaters are asked to only go to houses with the porch
    lights on in Portville, Franklinville, Bolivar and
    Independence. Additionally, Portville’s curfew
    Sunday evening will be 9 o’clock.

    Hours are set for 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in
    Shinglehouse, Pa. 

    Elsewhere in Pennsylvania, children can go door-to-door for
    tricks and treats Sunday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Bradford
    and Smethport
    , 5:30 to 7 p.m. in Eldred,
    6 to 7 p.m. in Lewis Run and 6 to 8 p.m. in
    Emporium and Lafayette. In
    Coudersport, trick-or-treating begins and 6 p.m.
    and will wrap up when all the porch lights are out. Similarly, only
    visit homes with porch lights on in Emporium and Lafayette. 

    A list of
    additional area events follows.

    SCIO — Genesis Bible Church, 4193 Route 19 South, will host a
    Family Harvest Party at 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

    ALLEGANY — A free Trunk-N-Treat Halloween event
    will be held in the parking lot of St. John’s Lutheran Church,
    Fourth Street, from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Call 373-0025 or visit
    www.stjohnsallegany.com for more information.

    OLEAN — Halloween party and farewell party for
    Eric Medler of Jokers Wild at the Christopher Columbus Lodge,
    Saturday 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

    OLEAN — Ladies of the Night/Halloween Costume
    Party
    , Saturday, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., St. Stephen’s Club.

    WESTON’S MILLS – A free haunted maze will be
    offered from 6 to about 9:30 p.m. Sunday at the Weston’s Mills Fire
    Hall. Firefighters will give out candy and cookies to children.

    OLEAN — A youth Halloween party will be held
    from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at St. John’s Recreation Facility, 921
    N. Union St., by the city of Olean’s Youth Bureau and Recreation
    Department. The event is free of charge and open to children in
    kindergarten through fifth grade.

    OLEAN — The Olean YMCA will host its annual Halloween
    Boo Bash
    from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. There will be a live
    broadcast by 101.5 The Mix, the Monster Mash dance, a haunted house
    (and one for younger children), the YMCA’s inflatables and a
    costume parade with prizes for the craziest, most original,
    scariest and funniest costumes. First-, second-, and third-place
    prizes will also be awarded for the best overall costumes. Light
    refreshments and treat bags will be available for every
    participant.

    LEWIS RUN, Pa. — There will be a Halloween party for
    children
    at the Lewis Run fire hall after
    trick-or-treating.  

    PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. — There will be a parade for young
    children
    at 7 p.m. Sunday that will begin at the
    Presbyterian Church on Church Street and proceed to the Moose Club,
    were a Halloween party will be held.

    ELDRED, Pa. — Trick-or treating will be followed by a
    costume judging Halloween party at the Eldred
    Borough Fire Department. The party is open to children in grades
    six and under in Otto—Eldred School District.

    COUDERSPORT, Pa. — A Halloween parade will be
    held for children beginning at 3 p.m. downtown. Line—up will take
    place at 2:30 p.m. on Third Street.
