GOOSEBERRIES: A quick call Tuesday revealed that gooseberries
are available at the Pleasant Valley Nursery in Olean, N.Y., a
store on the way into Olean (from Bradford) on Route 16. We trust
our caller and hope we’re not sending people on a wild gooseberry
chase. A reader Tuesday had been looking for these berries for
awhile, hoping to taste them as part of her “bucket list.”
