GOOD WISHES: A couple readers passed along birthday wishes.

William “Gus” Gocella writes us from Tennessee, “Congratulations
RTS/ERA. I have enjoyed your product since living at 12 1/2 Brennan
Street in the ’40s. I may not be the longest reader of RTS you have
but I wager there is no one any more loyal than I. Good luck for
the next 60 years. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.”

Jim in Erie added, “Happy Birthday ’Round the Square. You allow
us the stay connected with Bradford. Thanks.”

THE CLOCK: Randy Mays writes, “I have recently returned to visit
the Bradford area after leaving back in 1965. My morning visits
began with a ritualistic walk up Main Street to chase away the
morning fog; at least this is what the manager of the Comfort Inn
has used for justification to name me ‘Fog Man.’”

“During my walk, I noticed that the iconic time and temperature
sign at the corner of Pine and Main streets is no longer working.
Is there a plan in the future to restore the sign to working order,
or has it fallen victim to the economic struggles of the local
economy?”

We don’t know and so put the question to our readers.

PET PEEVE: A reader points out a hazard which has developed
because the alternate side parking ordinance has not been enforced
near the YMCA on Kennedy Street between Boylston Street and Forman
Street.

Surely, there has been ample time to have parking signs in place
and begin enforcement, he writes.

Our reader points out this will take an effort by the YMCA to
remind its members of both the ordinance and the limitation of
parking in the drop-off areas to short-term parking for drop offs
and pick ups only.

“Additionally it may be a good idea for the police department to
begin this effort by issuing warning tickets without fines for a
short period since the offenders are most likely YMCA members who
park in this area regularly,” he adds.
