The Bradford Area School District will see an increase of
approximately 4.3 percent in the amount of the budget that is
allocated for paying administrative salaries, according to Business
Manager Kathy Kelly.

The administrative salaries for the 2009-10 school year were
released Monday.

Sam Johnson Jr., director of human services, noted the process
was relatively smooth, as Act 93 determines salary increases for
administrative positions based on performance, position held,
experience and board-determined annual adjustments. He noted that
is one reason it is called an agreement rather than a contract.

The Act 93 administrators’ compensation plan was voted into
effect in June 2007. The plan, which is a four-year agreement on
administrators’ salaries and benefits, is required by state
law.

This year’s salaries range from a high of more than $117,000 to
a low of just above $33,000.

Superintendent Sandra Romanowski’s salary for the 2009-10 school
year is highest at $117,250. Next is Assistant Superintendent
Katharine Pude with a salary of $101,362.

Both Director of Business Affairs Kathy Kelly and Director of
Human Resources Sam Johnson Jr., will receive salaries in the
$90,000 range: Kelly will receive $95,026 and Johnson will receive
$93,258.

Principals for all four schools are also receiving salaries in
that range: George G. Blaisdell Elementary School Principal David
Jones, $95,419; Bradford Area High School Principal Ken Coffman,
$92,690; Floyd C. Fretz Middle School Principal Tina Slaven,
$92,245; and School Street Elementary School Principal Sarah
Tingley, $90,290.

Director of Technology John Petruzzi will receive a salary of
$72,630 for the 2009-10 school year; while others in the $70,000
range include: Bradford Area High School Assistant Principal David
Ray, $74,314; Bradford Area High School Assistant Principal Gail
Herrmann, $73,607; Elementary Assistant Principal Marianne Carrico,
$71,207; and Fretz Assistant Principal Brock Benson, $71,116.

Remaining administrative salaries include: School psychologist
Sarah Schreiber, $68,702; School Street Assistant Principal Erin
Waugaman, $59,287; Supervisor of Maintenance and Custodial Services
Gene Woodmansee, $57,710; Network Technician W. Pat Gainer,
$47,368; Fretz Custodial Supervisor Jeffrey Torrey, $43,613;
Bradford Area High School Custodial Supervisor Harold Whitney,
$38,408 and George G. Blaisdell Custodial Supervisor Robert Hanold,
$33,024.
