RIDGWAY – Two people were killed during a one-vehicle accident
at 3 p.m. Sunday along Route 555 in Benezette Township.

Colt W. Jenny, 21, of Rochester, Pa., and Lucas A. Sebastian,
21, of Freedom, died in the crash as a result of blunt force
trauma, according to Elk County Coroner Lou Radkowski.

A pick-up truck operated by Jenny was traveling west on Route
555 when it failed to negotiate a left hand curve in the roadway
and hit a fence, according to Ridgway-based state police. The truck
then continued traveling along the fence before hitting a guidewire
to a telephone pole and hitting a group of trees with its passenger
side.

Police said the truck sustained severe damage.

Jenny was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash,
according to police. Sebastian was using his seatbelt.

Police were assisted at the scene by members of the Jay Township
Fire Department and Bennetts Valley Ambulance.
