TV TIME: Busty Hearts of Turtlepoint was among the so-called
talent to be featured on the television competition, “America’s Got
Talent” – although she got buzzed off in near-record time.
Since our newspaper is only for the genteel and well-bred, we
can’t describe Busty’s talent in any detail. Busty operates an
adults-only club in Turtlepoint and, suffice it to say, her name
says it all.
For anyone interested, her brief performance can be seen on
YouTube.
Speaking of “America’s Got Talent,” we heard from one reader who
was dismayed to learn that last season’s winner – scheduled to
appear in Bradford later this year – is being paid ,20 million a
year to perform in Las Vegas.
Barney Snyder of Tucson, Ariz., writes, “Twenty million bucks a
year for a ventriloquist show. Give me a break. That’s good enough
reason for me not to go see him. I don’t believe it.”
Before everyone gets up in arms, allow us to point out that the
big salary is not for his Bradford performance. Officials with
Bradford Area Creative and Performing Arts Center were lucky enough
to land this act before he hit the big time.
And, by the way, this guy is a far cry from Shari Lewis and Lamb
Chop. Yes, yes, people cannot fathom how a ventriloquist can be
this good. But we’ve seen him and, honestly, he is fantastic and we
certainly hope to catch his show in Bradford.
Finally on the TV topic today, we had a “Case sighting” on a
recent television show. FX channel features a program based on a
film in which Morgan Spurlock lived for 30 days strictly on
McDonald’s food – and the toll it took on his health. It was called
Super Size Me.
This spin-off features Spurlock trying out other things for 30
days – living on minimum wages, having a gun control advocate live
with a hunter, putting a Mormon in a home with homosexual
parents.
On a recent program, he spent 30 days living and working with
coal miners in West Virginia.
At the conclusion of the program, Spurlock opened up a gift from
his adopted family of miners. It was a beautiful Case knife, and
the logo was very apparent when he opened the box. “To Morgan,
you’re now one of us,” said the inscription.
