JOHNSONBURG (EC) – A Wilcox man used a toy gun to rob a
Johnsonburg bank Tuesday morning, and walked away with ,21,000,
police say.
James Richard “Rainbow” Fallin, 51, of 403 Marvin St., was
arrested and charged with robbery and unlawful taking or
disposition, Johnsonburg Borough Police said.
Police responded to a bank alarm about 9 a.m. at the County
National Bank at 601 Market St. Bank employees told police a white
male, speaking with a southern accent, entered the building through
a side entrance while brandishing a toy hand gun.
Once inside, Fallin allegedly ordered two tellers on the floor
and stole ,21,000, police said. He left the bank, fleeing in an
awaiting car parked in an alley between Penn and Market
streets.
The fleeing vehicle, identified as a Suzuki Vitera, was stopped
by St. Marys City Police at the Straub Brewery.
Fallin was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge George
King and remanded to Elk County Jail in Ridgway in lieu of ,100,000
straight bail.
In addition to St. Marys City Police, the Johnsonburg Borough
Police Department was assisted in the arrest by Ridgway Borough
Police, the Elk County Sheriff’s Office, Elk County Control,
Ridgway-based state police, Pennsylvania State Police Forensics
Unit, Johnsonburg Ambulance, FBI Erie Field Office, Kane Borough
Police, Kane-based state police and several concerned citizens.
