SHINGLEHOUSE – A Springville, N.Y., man was arrested Friday for
stealing several bottles of narcotics valued at more than
,55,000.
Chief Brad Buchholz of the Shinglehouse Police Department
arrested Nathan A. Wikman, 25, about 2:15 p.m. Friday.
Wikman was arrested for 20 counts of theft by unlawful taking or
disposition, 20 counts of receiving stolen property, and 20 counts
of possession of a controlled substance, all felony counts; and
possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, according to
Buchholz.
The charges filed against Wikman are related to actions that
occurred on Friday and also several other thefts of schedule II
narcotics from Sprouts Drug Store over a period of one month,
according to Buchholz.
The narcotics that were stolen were fentanyl, methadone,
oxycodone, endocet, morphine and oxycontin. The street value of the
narcotics is estimated in excess of ,55,000.
Wikman was employed by Prestige Delivery Systems Inc., as a
delivery person. During his delivery Friday to Sprouts Drug Store,
located at 122 E. Academy St., he removed several bottles of
schedule II narcotics from the store, according to Buchholz. These
bottles were recovered after a traffic stop was conducted on
Wikman.
Wikman was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Delores
Bristol in Galeton and remanded to Potter County Jail in
Coudersport in lieu of ,150,000 cash bail, according to
Buchholz.
The Shinglehouse Police Department was assisted by the
Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office,
Southern Tier Drug Task Force and the New York State Police.
Buchholz said the investigation continues and more charges
against Wikman are likely.
