LOOK UP: Two readers had the where-with-all to snap a picture of
that overhead blimp on Aug. 13.
At least, that’s all the photos we received – so far.
Connie Brundage writes us: “My granddaughter Jenna Rees from
Coudersport has been staying with me in Port Allegany for the
summer. She was outside on Monday, Aug. 13, and saw the Goodyear
Blimp go over. She got several pictures.”
Judging by the tree tops, the blimp was flying pretty darn
low.
Our second blimp shot comes to us from Ronald “Mac” McDonald II
of Kane.
He notes, “The digital read-out was displaying something about
the American Red Cross and urging readers to give blood.”
100 DEGREES: While we’re doing a photo gallery, allow us to pass
along this photographic evidence of a day in Bradford where the
temperature got very very close to the 100-degree mark.
Ida Anderson of 1 Matts Way, Bradford, dropped by with this
photo which says on the back it was developed in August 1988.
Do we know for sure it was Bradford? No.
Do we know for sure it was an accurate thermometer? Of course
not.
And – for those of you with better eyes than ours – can we even
be certain that the needle is precisely on the 100?
We don’t mean to be skeptical, honest. Just raising the
inevitable questions. Seems to us, though, that 100 degrees is a
distinct possibility.
