WARREN – A Tionesta woman died from injuries sustained in a Jeep
accident at 5:20 a.m. Saturday on Route 62 south, about 6.1 miles
south of U.S. Route 6 in Watson Township.
A Jeep driven by Kristian McFarland, 26, of 1110 Lake Lucy Road,
Lot P, was traveling north on Route 62 when it traveled across the
southbound lane and off the west side of the road, according to
Warren-based state police.
Police said the Jeep then traveled along the west side of the
road for about 75 feet before hitting a telephone pole almost
directly head-on. The Jeep sheered off the telephone pole,
continuing in a northwest direction.
Police said the Jeep went over a small bank and went airborne
for about 45 feet, at which time it continued westbound for about
90 feet before hitting a large tree head-on. The Jeep spun
counterclockwise for about 10 feet before coming to final rest.
McFarland, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead
at the scene by Warren County Assistant Deputy Coroner Higgins,
according to police.
Police said the Jeep sustained major damage and was towed from
the scene.
Police were assisted at the scene by the Tidioute, Youngsville
and Pleasant Township volunteer fire departments.
