ST. MARYS – Smethport defeated Fox Township 13-3 Monday in Elk
County American Legion Baseball League action.

Zach Meyers pitched a complete game to earn the victory for
Smethport. He gave up seven hits and five walks while striking out
three.

Offensively for Smethport (7-2), Matt Luther went 3-for-4 with a
triple and four RBIs and Kurt Duffee was 2-for-4 with a double, a
home run and four RBIs.

Suffering the mound loss, Fox’s Cogan yielded 15 hits and two
walks. He struck out three in the complete game loss.

Leading Fox (2-7), Pacazzi was 2-for-3 with a double.

On Sunday, St. Marys defeated Smethport 7-5 in the title game of
the Jim Werner Memorial Tournament.

Ryan Neal tossed a complete game six-hitter to earn the mound
victory. He struck out four.

Louis Pisani was 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs to lead
St. Marys.

Leading Smethport, Justin Smith went 3-for-4 with a home run and
three RBIs.

Suffering the mound loss was Duffee who struck out five in a
complete game effort.

Kyle Douthit and Duffee struck out seven in Smethport’s 9-8 win
over Bradford.

Smith doubled, belted a home run and had three RBIs to lead
Smethport.

In the mound loss, Evan Kline and Ryan LaBrozzi combined on
three strikeouts for Bradford. Mike Pascarella went 3-for-5 with a
double to lead Bradford.

Smethport defeated Ridgway 12-1 in five innings.

Luther gave up five hits in the mound triumph for Smethport.

Leading the victors, Smith was 3-for-4 with a double and three
RBIs and Luther was 4-for-4 with a double, home run and four
RBIs.
