BROCKWAY – Cameron Clingan blasted a three-run home run as part
of a four-run seventh inning to send Cameron County to a 7-2 win
over Clarion (16-2) in the District 9 Class A baseball semifinals
Tuesday.
Clingan finished the day 3-for-3 and also had an RBI double.
David Lyon was 2-for-4 with an RBI double and an RBI single for the
Red Raiders (16-3).
Jordan Crane earned the mound win, tossing a five-hitter,
fanning seven and walking one.
Eric Grejda took the loss. He allowed six hits, struck out four
and issued one free pass. Drew Vandermeer and Buddy Reed pitched in
relief.
“Our defense was exceptional today,” CCHS coach Dick Harrier
said. “All the kids did what they had to do. We played very
solid.”
CCHS will play Johnsonburg at 4 p.m. Thursday at Berwind Park in
St. Marys for the title.
