Matt,[neWLine]I wrote this not knowing for sure the length –
it’s always weird when there’s a lot of white space. ANYWAY, it is
written long so you can cut it to fit. Please don’t jump to back
page. Thanks.[neWLine]Marty[neWLine][neWLine][neWLine][neWLine]This

That’s all for today. We’ll give you the next segment

proposed by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, is
undergoing a pilot program this year. If all goes well, it will be
fully implemented nationwide in the spring of 2008.[neWLine]
To pass, applicants will have to correctly answer six of 10
selected questions.[neWLine]
Like we said yesterday, this batch of questions was fairly
easy.[neWLine]
In designing the new test, questions were made to focus on the
concepts of democracy and the rights and responsibilities of
citizenship. In designing the new exam, the Immigration Services
received assistance and worked with test development contractors,
U.S. history and government scholars, and English as a Second
Language experts.[neWLine]
It also sought input from a variety of stakeholders, including
immigrant advocacy groups, citizenship instructors and District
Adjudications Officers.[neWLine][neWLine]
TODAY’S QUOTE: “”Real journalism – the practice of adding to the
store of public knowledge by reporting news – is difficult,
thankless and often unpleasant task. Bloggers want no part of it,””
said Jonathan Last, columnist, the Philadelphia Inquirer, 2006. As
always, today’s quote is from the Freedom Forum.
