AUSTIN – Bradford High needed just five innings to dispose of
Austin 15-0 on the softball diamond Tuesday.
Ashlie Harrington went the shortened distance on the mound for
Bradford, allowing no hits, striking out one and walking six.
With the bats for the Lady Owls, Erin Comilla plated one of her
four RBIs on a double, Jonnie Mascho ripped an RBI triple and
Michele Keane and Sabina Vecellio were each good for a run-scoring
double.
“We started off really slowly,” recalled Nichole Spindler,
Bradford skipper.
“Finally in the fourth inning we decided we were going to get
moving and hit the ball. Once we got started we played pretty
well.”
Desiree Lamer was tagged with the loss for Austin. She
surrendered 11 hits, walked three and fanned one.
The win pushes the Lady Owls to 9-7 on the season. They are at
Kane on Thursday.
