Gayle Bauer and Don Cummins won the Republican nominations for
Bradford Township Supervisors during the primary election
Tuesday.
According to unofficial tallies by The Era, for a six-year term,
Bauer had 274 votes followed by Tom Vickery with 239 votes, Michael
Cleveland with 87 votes and Thomas Brown with 72 votes. All the
candidates were running on the Republican ballot.
Bauer faces no Democratic nominee for the six-year seat for
supervisor in the general election in November.
“I want to thank everyone that supported me and helped me along
the way,” Bauer said Tuesday night. “(They) gave me a lot of
encouragement. (If these numbers hold up), I look forward to the
fall.”
Meanwhile, for the two-year seat, Cummins had 400 votes to
Pamela J. Taylor’s 257 for the Republican nomination, according to
unofficial tallies by The Era. Cummins will also face no Democratic
nominee in the general election.
“I greatly appreciate the opportunity to serve Bradford Township
for the next two years, and I also appreciate the overwhelming vote
of confidence from the voters,” Cummins said Tuesday night. “We
(the supervisors) started some good initiatives and would like to
continue those with the voters’ support.”
Cummins also said Taylor ran a good race and that he looked
forward to working with Bauer.
“As far as Pam goes, she ran a good race,” Cummins said. “I want
to give her credit for that. I look forward to working with Miss
Bauer. I think it’s great and think things are coming around.”
