PORT ALLEGANY – Bradford High rallied from a 3-0 first-inning
deficit to beat Port Allegany 9-6 in high school softball
Monday.
Bradford plated four runs in the second inning with the help of
Ashlie Harrington’s RBI double.
Harrington also pitched the Lady Owls to victory, throwing a
four-hitter, whiffing four and walking five in the complete game
effort.
Michele Keane (triple), Kristin Dittman (RBI double) and Jonnie
Mascho (2-for-4) also keyed the Lady Owls (8-7).
Heather Stuckey took the loss, yielding 10 hits, striking out
three and walking two.
Lauren Delacour smacked a two-run double for the Lady
Gators.
“We hung in there,” Bradford coach Nichole Spindler noted. “We
came out flat after three days off.
“Ashlie improved as she threw. Our girls picked up their
intensity and we held them after the first couple innings.”
Bradford visits Austin today.
