KANE -ðA Smethport woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident
at 4:10 p.m. Saturday on U.S. Route 6, two miles east of Smethport
Borough.
A car driven by Joni Leet of East Valley Road, Smethport, was
westbound on Route 6 when it left the road, hit a bank and became
airborne for about 18 feet, according to Kane-based state
police.
Police said the car then continued west, coming to rest in the
middle of the road.
Leet, who suffered unknown injuries, police said, was taken by
Priority Care Ambulance to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in
Coudersport. Reports from the scene indicate Leet had to be
extricated from her car.
There was no further information on her condition Sunday
night.
There was disabling damage to the car, according to police.
The Smethport Fire Department, fire police and Smethport Borough
Police assisted at the scene.
