RIDGWAY – A St. Marys man died from injuries sustained in a
one-truck crash at 9:45 p.m. Saturday on Ketner Road in Jones
Township.

Ridgway-based state police said James Robert Scott, 25, of St.
Marys, was partially ejected from the vehicle during the accident,
and suffered serious injuries which led to his death.

Police said a truck driven by Christopher Aaron Krieg, 23, of
St. Marys, was traveling west on Ketner Road, when it went out of
control, traveled off the road and into a ditch along the north
berm.

The truck then traveled back onto the road and across it,
hitting a group of large stones with its front, before rolling onto
its passenger side, police said. While doing so, Scott, a passenger
in the truck who was not wearing his seatbelt, was partially
ejected.

Police detected an odor of alcohol from Krieg. He was taken to
Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys. Krieg was not injured,
police said.

Police said the truck had moderate damage.

Police were assisted at the scene by the Jones Township
Volunteer Fire Department

The investigation continues.
