DuBois Central Catholic defeated Bradford 14-8 in baseball
action Thursday.
Doubling for DCC were Andrew Welch, Nate Brennan and Christian
Stilman.
On the mound for DuBois Central was Dante DeSantis, who struck
out two, walked five and gave up six hits. He had relief help from
Dom Varacallo, who struck out one, walked one and gave up two
hits.
On the mound for the Owls were Nick Foster, Ryan LaBrozzi, Kevin
Pautler and Cory Viola, who combined to strike out nine, walk six
and give up 12 hits.
Foster hit an RBI triple and Mike Pascarella went 2-for-3 with
an RBI and a double for Bradford (2-7).
“It’s tough to win a baseball game with 10 errors,” noted Tim
Burris, Bradford coach.
Saturday the Owls will play Punxsutawney at Pitt field. Game
time is 10 a.m.
