    ANOTHER ONE: Ed Grimes drops us an e-line: On my way to
    Coudersport today, April 18, I was almost to the Tee Pee
    Campgrounds above Roulette, when I saw a bald eagle setting in the
    top of a dead tree.”

    OUR TOWN: “Bradford’s advantages are numerous. Here are a few.
    In Bradford, we manufacture oil-well supplies for every part of the
    world. Also … The best building bricks made; Machinery of every
    description; Gas engines for every use; Cutlery, table, pocket and
    surgical; Bottle and window …

    From The Town We Live in which purportedly was in The Era of
    Jan. 29, 1912.

    We continue:

    “Charcoal, commercial and medicinal; Fire-proofing for business
    and residence buildings; Compressors for all uses; Gasoline from
    gas and of purest quality; Oil by-products for all uses; Steel,
    malleable, new process;

    “Pumping heads, power plants; Meters for large water
    distribution; Vacuum cleaners, stationary and portable; Furniture,
    the new antique kind; Acids, lactic and oxalic; Wood, alcohol and
    by-products; Silk, silk-throwing;

    “Cement blocks for buildings; Brass goods for every purpose;
    Largest iron casting foundry north of Pittsburgh; Head center of
    the United States for manufacturing of pipe couplings;

    “Public school certificates admit students to best colleges,
    Special courses in manual training, domestic science, foreign
    languages, absolutely free; Churches of various denominations;
    Public library, $5,000 per year spent on maintenance;

    “Metropolitan business houses of up-to-date Bradford men keep
    everything the citizen requires for his many wants; Rental very
    reasonable, and the best class of houses and stores; Taxes,
    exceptionally low and manufacturers given special favor.

    “Water supply, pure mountain water, unlimited quantity, 4 cents
    per thousand gallons to manufacture. Residential rates are lowest
    in United States;

    “Factory sites – the board of trade has many on hand for free
    award; “Banks, four, unlimited capital, sound and solid, always
    interested in promoting welfare of our city.

    “Bradford is a sootless town. We burn natural gas. Our streets
    are paved, and we have fine macadam roads in the suburbs;
    Bradford’s vital statistics show that it is one of the healthiest
    towns in the world.

    “Bradford has the best-equipped hospital in Northern
    Pennsylvania; Bradford has one of the finest theatres in the
    country and a popular-price vaudeville house unexcelled
    anywhere.

    “We have the advantages of metropolitan utilities combined with
    comforts of a community free from over-crowding. …

    “Parties seeking desirable locations for homes and industries
    should come to Bradford.”
