Bradford High’s Shelly Fuhrman pitched perfect softball in an
11-0 4 1/2-inning win over Austin on Thursday.
Fuhrman struck out 11 to help the Lady Owls improve to 4-1.
“Shelly was awesome,” BAHS first-year coach Nichole Spindler
said. “She pitched a great game.”
Offensively for Bradford, Erin Comilla went 2-for-3 with a
triple, double and four RBIs, Brittany Harsen went 2-for-2 with an
RBI and Mindy Clouser and Tate Slaven each had an RBI on
sacrifices.
Erica Simms was the mound loser, scattering six hits, fanning
one and walking nine.
“We hit the ball pretty well,” Spindler noted. “Austin made a
couple good plays in the field. They hung with us for most of the
game. However, they couldn’t put the bat on the ball.”
Austin falls to 0-3.
Bradford hosts Kane at 4:15 p.m. today.
