WELLSVILLE – The music continues at the Wellsville Creative Arts
Center this weekend, with bluesman Paul Geremia performing on
Saturday night.
His concert will be 24 hours after the final first round matchup
in the Center?s Battle of the Bands competition.
Paul Geremia has traveled the country, Canada and Europe as a
professional musician for more than 40 years now.
Geremia has built a reputation as a first rate bluesman,
songwriter, a scholar of early jazz and blues, and one of the best
country blues fingerpickers ever with his tools: 6- and 12-string
guitars, harmonica, piano and a husky soulful voice. He also has a
good sense of humor.
Combining his interpretation of the earlier music of people like
Blind Lemon Jefferson, Robert Johnson, Blind Willie McTell,
Scrapper Blackwell and Blind Blake, with his original compositions,
he has created a style which is very much his own.
Geremia has recorded 10 solo albums, and has appeared on
numerous anthologies and compilation discs.
His concert will begin at 8 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30
p.m.
Tickets at the door are ,12, with ,2 discounts for students and
Creative Arts Center members.
