Garrett McEwen won the 100 meters in an impressive time of
:11.4, took the javelin with a 175′ throw and ran a strong leg in
the winning 4×100 relay as Bradford rolled to a 123 2/3-26 1/3
track and field win over Brookville on Tuesday.
In addition, McEwen threw the shot put 45’9″, which was good
enough for second place.
“This was Garrett’s best day yet in the 100 and that javelin
throw was also impressive on this kind of day,” said Tom Tessena,
Bradford coach. “He should really get the javelin out on a good
day.”
The other members of the winning 4×100 relay team were Ben
Walter, Nick Johnson and Matt Teribery.ð
“This relay team ran well today with a 46.1 time and one bad
handoff,” noted Tessena. “These guys are starting to come
along.”
Matt (Teribery) had a personal best in the long jump with a 19’4
1/2″ leap.
“Matt is becoming a very versatile performer,” the coach
said.
Johnson also won the 300 intermediate hurdles and a share of
first in the 110 high hurdles to also be a triple winner.ð
Shroy Mukerjee and Colton Langianese tied for first in the 400
meters with times of :53.4. Langianese won the 800 and was on the
winning 4×400 relay to complete his triple for the day, while
Mukerjee was a member of both the 4×400 and 4×800 teams for his
trifecta.ð
Jared Feura was a double winner (3200 relay, 1600 relay) and
freshman Michael White won both the 1600 and 3200.ð
The other member of the 4×800 team was freshman Mike Marasco,
who earned his first varsity points.ð
Rich Bartlebaugh was a double winner (3200 relay, 1600
relay).
David Rivera won the long and triple jumps, while Dan McMurtrie
took the pole vault, Tyree Bennett won the high jump and Dan
Gonzalez won the discus (146’3″).ðð
Rob Bleem also had a good outing, winning the shot with 52’7″,
and placing second in the javelin (164’11”) and discus
(143’7″).
“Coach Mealy warned me that Rob would be off a little because he
really put him through a tough weight workout on Monday,” commented
Tessena. “Rob still did quite well.”
Other personal bests were turned in by Nate Burrow (36’8 1/2″)
in the triple jump; Teribery in the 100 (11.9) and long jump (194′
