Bradford won 14 events en route to a dominating 104-45 win over
Brookville in girls track and field Tuesday at Parkway Field.
Alexa Wilton (100 hurdles, 200 dash, 400 relay) and Chloe Nickel
(300 hurdles, 400 relay, 1600 relay) tripled for the Lady Owls
(2-0).
Tricia Copeland (100, 400 relay), Lindsay Sherman (400, 400
relay), Katie Vecellio (discus, javelin), Erica Pascarella (high
jump, 1600 run), Marissa Buchheit (3200 relay, 3200 run) and Liz
Keller (800 run, 1600 relay) doubled.
“This was a nice, solid night for us,” Bradford coach Larry
Stillman noted. “We were able to get a better look at our kids in
our first dual meet in two weeks.
“We made some changes and most of them worked out. We also got
back into our lineup some kids who had been out and they helped
out.”
Overall, Stillman was pleased with his team’s performance.
“In the distance events, Liz Keller, Erica Pascarella and
Marissa Buchheit looked good in winning their events,” Stillman
declared. “They got strong support from Katie White, Whitney Cline,
Rachel Garges and Megan Prosser. Marissa got her first two varsity
first places.
“In the sprints, Tricia Copeland beat a good Brookville sprinter
in the 100 and Alexa and Lindsay also looked good.
“Our 4×100 relay had a great time (51.30) on a cold day. In the
hurdles, Chloe had an outstanding 300 hurdles (47.40) for this
early.
“Kevryn Boser looked good in the 100 hurdles and Hilary Digel
had a good 300 hurdle race. In the jumps, we looked very good in
the high jump. Erica, Katie Slavinski and Shea Miller all looked
very good.
“Katie Vecellio continues her strong season in winning the
discus and javelin. Brooke Milbrandt took second in both the shot
put and discus and Nicole Cappelo had a good shot put.
“It was a nice team win with eight multiple winners and overall
balanced scoring.”
Bradford participates in the Kane Invitational on Saturday.
