Meghan Perschke converted two free throws with three seconds
remaining to send Bradford to a 30-29 win over Erie McDowell in a
non-league girls basketball game Saturday afternoon.
“Meghan hitting those big free throws was great. Her four points
really helped in a low-scoring game,” commented BHS coach Doug
Lloyd.
Bradford ends its regular season at 17-6 overall.
“It was a great season. We accomplished a lot this year,” stated
Lloyd.
Also leading Bradford were Whitney Cline (9 points, 12 boards)
and Tricia Copeland (8 boards).
“We had almost a two-week layoff and it really showed. We came
out a little flat but we picked it up down the stretch,” Lloyd
noted.
Leading Erie McDowell (15-9) was Becca Innes with 12
tallies.
“McDowell’s defense was good,” Lloyd added. “I give them credit.
They have a nice team.”
Bradford will compete in the District 9 Class AAA playoffs. The
Lady Owls’ foe, site, day and time will be announced.
“It’s not over yet. We hope to win the district playoffs and go
to states. Then anything can happen,” said Lloyd.
